High Ground Instant Coffee - The Perfect VanLife Coffee Solution
If you've been following us for a while, you know that coffee is always our top priority - whether we have to drive an extra hour out of the way, spend an arm and a leg for a cup to go, or wake up at the crack of dawn, we are GETTING our coffee one way or another.
But living in a van, we’ve found getting our coffee fix can be a little more difficult. Making coffee is messy and can be time consuming depending on your method. So when High Ground Instant Coffee reached out and wanted us to try their coffee, of course we were intrigued!
It’s important to mention that we’ve always been skeptical of instant coffee, so if that's your initial reaction, you are not alone. We’ve only ever taken instant coffee on backpacking trips and even then, we guzzle it down for a quick caffeine boost.
But we’ve gotta say, High Ground Instant Coffee is a game changer. We no longer have to sacrifice taste for the convenience of instant coffee and it makes having coffee in our van SO easy.
Now our coffee routine can be as simple as boiling a pot of water and heading out the door. This has already proved convenient for early drive days and our beloved sunrise hikes!
Although we are already sold on the coffee, here are some questions we had initially and questions that we were asked when we shared High Ground Instant Coffee:
How does it work?
The beauty of instant coffee is how easy it is to make! We took 2 teaspoons of ground coffee, poured it into a cup & a half of hot water and stirred! That's literally it.
Does it taste different from regular coffee?
The main difference we noticed is that it tastes a bit creamier, which is fine with us! Other than that, once the coffee is stirred in, it tastes just as good as the pour over we used to use.
How much does it cost and how do you purchase it?
It costs $11.17 and you can purchase it on Amazon. The size they have will give you about 20 cups of coffee. You can also sign up for a subscription through amazon and receive your coffee automatically every month!
Can you do anything else with it?
YES! That’s one of the things we have loved about this type of coffee - there are endless possibilities on what you can do with it! We’ve seen people bake cakes, cupcakes, pies, and more with it! We’ve also used the decaf to make our own version of the trending “whipped coffee” for an afternoon snack that may or may not include bourbon ;)
